Heidi K. Eklund began her career on stage, mostly in Shakespeare, in her younger years. While living in NYC she acted in countless Off Broadway theaters, and primarily as an ensemble member of the Irondale Ensemble Theater where she joined Actor's Equity Association. After a 5 year transition as a skydiver in Upstate NY, she found herself in Hollywood working with Mindless Entertainment as a script coordinator for "Extreme Dodgeball." During that experience she learned to love the other side of the camera and making film happen from the production side. She still keeps up with acting in film, doing voiceover work, and has written a full-length play "Consumed: Love Passion & Poe"
Heidi was the Casting Coordinator at Vassar College for 14 years and has cast 40+ short films in that position. She grew her casting role from her assistant position when she saw a need to connect students with professional actors in the Hudson Valley Community.
Heidi is now the owner of Hudson Valley Casting and has served as the casting director for over 50 films. Heidi still loves acting and will return to the other side of the camera when she is old and gray. "I always new my acting career would blossom when I was past the age of 60." For now she is content casting films and helping her son Wibby with is YouTube channel and enjoying watching him grow up.
Heidi is so grateful to partner with Amy Hutchings on so many projects.
