On a late Saturday afternoon, Vera finally acknowledges Sasha and the two chat and connect before Vera jumps off the cliff. Momentarily distracted Sasha misses Vera’s jump and when she goes to look for Vera in the water below, Sasha can’t find her. After asking the other teens nearby, no one can confirm Vera’s disappearance or safety. Discomforted, Sasha decides to venture across the water to look for the missing Vera. Reaching the opposite shore, Sasha is confronted with a myriad of misdirections and bogus clues that lead her into the depths of an unmarked forest. When Sasha eventually finds Vera she must face both internal and external challenges in order to bring Vera safely home. Peace Rock is a story about female desire, sexual awakening, protection and perseverance. It explores power dynamics and their tenuous relationship to context, looking at the ways in which we can move seamlessly between roles of seeker and finder, savior and saved.
